One day driving through the Central Valley in September of 2010, I, Bill Hickey, was searching for an opportunity to follow one of my passions, which is bicycling. Speaking with various shop owners in the Valley, I came across the Madera Bike Shop. The couple that had owned this shop for many years were going to close the shop and move away, with this soon to happen, I had the opportunity I was searching for! Growing up around bikes and having a passion for them with all the volunteer work I’ve been involved with, supporting cycling awareness, and raising money for organizations that I believe in (LIVESTRONG being one of them), with the grace of God backing me, I took over ownership of the Madera Bike Shop on November 15th, 2010, and have not looked back. We are a full service family shop (parts, sales, service, and accessories) and we are proud dealers of Specialized, Raleigh, Diamondback, Fit Bike Co., and S&M. We have a great selection here in the shop, but if you don’t see what you want, we can get it for a great price, all it takes is a phone call.

I attended United Bicycle Institute in Portland, Oregon and graduated from their Professional Repair and Shop Operation school. I’ve spent many years on the other side of the counter as a customer knowing what it is like to be pulled around, that will not happen here. We will treat you as you should be, not a customer, but a neighbor. So if you love bikes, are looking for great service with great prices, come on in and see us!
