We loaded up the van and headed up Ben Hur Road to watch the Tour blast through Mariposa.  After a sketchy little detour down Silver Bar Road, we made it to the perfect spot to watch the second KOM.  Here are the leaders passing through. 

Seeing the peloton approach was amazing!   You try so hard to spot your favorite riders but they are just too damn fast.  

Thank goodness for cameras, though!  Here is Lance having a little snack as he cruises along.  We also saw one racer taking a nature break down the road, but we won't post that picture.

Gary and Vanessa (shaking her cowbell) obeyed the official and didn't cross the road, while Mark, Jacob, Tara, Kelly, Silvia and John ignored the footstomping and yelling to cross the street for a better view.  In the end, Bobby and Daren had the best view from the hill!

See the guy hanging out the window and doing a quick seat adjustment?  They actually have classes for that.  By the way, Rock Racing was by far the friendliest team car of them all, despite their tough image.

We hauled ass down the sketchy dirt road and made it back to Clovis just in time to see the sprint to the finishline and the awards ceremony.  Mark Cavendish is amazing! 

Vanessa was close enough to kiss him!  Luckily, John was standing right behind her and she controlled herself. From the looks on some of the other spectators' faces, she wasn't the only one contemplating the big smooch!
